Blowouts and Styling in Belmont, MA

Shampoo and blow dry, occasion styling, and the finish that makes color look like color.

Why book a blowout

The Difference Between Dry Hair and Finished Hair

A blowout in Belmont is not a luxury so much as a shortcut. Twenty minutes of your own effort with a round brush rarely gets where a stylist gets in the same time, and it never lasts as long. Robert’s Salon and Spa has been drying and styling hair on Leonard Street for more than thirty years, and shampoo-and-blow-dry appointments are among the most-booked services on the menu — 471 of them in the first eight months of this year.

Some clients come weekly. Some come before something that matters — a wedding, a reunion, a photograph that will hang somewhere. And a lot of them add the blow dry onto a color appointment, which is the version we would recommend to anyone who has ever walked out damp and wondered what the color actually looked like.

What it costs

Add a Blow Dry to Your Color

If you are booking color or highlights, add the blow dry. Color that gets rinsed and sent home wet does not show you what you paid for, and the tone always reads differently dry than it does at the bowl. It adds well under an hour to the appointment. Booking a cut in the same visit saves a second trip entirely.

Questions we get asked

Blowout FAQs

How long does a blowout last?

Three to five days for most people, and longer for hair that is coarse or color-treated. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase, keeping it loosely pinned overnight, and using dry shampoo at the roots on day three will usually buy you an extra day or two.

A shampoo and blow dry starts at $60. Occasion styling and updos are priced separately because they take longer and often include a consultation beforehand. We confirm your price when you book.

Most clients do, and it is worth it. Color rinsed and sent home damp never shows what the color actually looks like finished. The blow dry adds under an hour, and it is the difference between seeing your color the next morning and seeing it right away.

Yes. Book occasion styling well ahead, especially for spring and fall weekends, and come in for a trial run first if the style is complicated. Bring a photograph of what you have in mind and a picture of the neckline you will be wearing.

No — the shampoo is part of the appointment, and stylists prefer to start from the bowl. Come with your hair dry and down rather than in a tight ponytail, which leaves a dent that takes extra time to work out.
