Salon Policies

A few things worth knowing before your visit. None of it is complicated — it exists so that your appointment starts on time and the person before you got the same. If anything here raises a question, call the salon at 617-489-7733 and we will talk it through.

Booking and Consultations

Appointments can be booked online any time or by phone during salon hours. For color, we ask new clients to book a consultation first. It takes a few minutes, and it means we can look at your hair, understand what has been done to it before, and confirm your price before anything is mixed. Nobody likes finding out the number at the register.

Color correction and keratin smoothing always begin with a consultation, because the time and the price both depend on the condition and history of your hair.

Cancellations and No-Shows

When an appointment is cancelled at short notice, that time usually cannot be filled, and it comes out of a stylist’s day rather than the salon’s. We ask for 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule.

Appointments cancelled inside that window, or missed without notice, may be charged 50% of the scheduled service. Color appointments hold the longest blocks in the book, so they are the ones this matters most for.

Late Arrivals

If you are running late, call and let us know — we will do what we can. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may mean we have to shorten your service or reschedule it, because the appointment after yours belongs to somebody else. Where a service is shortened, it is charged at the full price.

Service Adjustments

If something is not right, tell us. Contact the salon within 7 days of your appointment and we will book you back in to adjust it at no charge.

We do not offer refunds on services performed. What we do offer is the chance to put it right, which in our experience is what people actually want. If you decide after your appointment that you would like a different result than the one you booked — a change of mind rather than a correction — that is a new service at the usual price.

Children and Guests

We are glad to cut children’s hair, and we have been doing it for families here for a long time. Book it as its own appointment so we can allow the time.

If your child is coming along rather than being seen, we ask that they stay with you throughout and are old enough to do so safely. The salon floor has hot tools, chemicals and people carrying full color bowls, and it is not a place where a small child can wander. If you cannot arrange for them elsewhere, tell us when you book and we will try to place your appointment at a quieter time.

Please leave pets at home. Service animals are always welcome.

Product Returns and Exchanges

Unopened products can be exchanged within 7 days with your receipt.

If you have opened something and it is not working for your hair, bring it back anyway — we would rather swap it for something that suits you than have it sit unused under your sink. Opened products are exchanged for another product or salon credit rather than refunded.

Tools such as dryers and irons must come back within 14 days, in the original packaging, to be exchanged.

Payment

We accept cash and all major credit and debit cards.

Gratuity is always at your discretion and never added automatically.

Gift Cards

Gift cards can be bought at the salon or sent by email from our gift cards page. They can be used against any service or product we offer, and any unused balance stays on the card.

Gift cards are not redeemable for cash and cannot be replaced if lost, so please treat them as you would cash.

Questions

Any of this is easier to sort out by phone than by email. Call the salon at 617-489-7733 and we will help.
